Classes and Programs

Potluck Dinners
Once a month during the school year, we hold a Saturday potluck dinner and class at the church. After a delicious meal, one of the pastors presents some spiritual "food for thought." Topics deal with current events and/or New Church teachings. Check calendar for details.

Men's Group
This group meets at individual’s homes on the third Tuesday of every month during the school year to support each other as men, husbands and fathers.  The hour and half meetings are casual in format, led by a pastor or church member.  Currently the group is working through a book entitled, Rise Above It – Spiritual Development through the Ten Commandments.  Additionally during the summer, social events are scheduled.  Check calendar for details.

Youth Group
On Sundays twice a month from 5-7pm, teens in 7th through 10th Grade meet at the church for pizza, games, topical discussions and vesper services led by one of the pastors.  Periodically throughout the year the teens get involved in service projects for the church and local community.  Check calendar for details.

New Church Explorers
This is a newly revamped course to explore the basic teachings of the New Church in an interactive, multi-media learning style. Participants will:
- Delve into a lot of basic information in an interesting, interactive way.
- Ask basic questions about the church and explore others' questions.
- Learn with a team in a way that helps focus on spiritual growth.
- Deepen your connections with others (including your partner).
- Have a fun night out with friends.
- Come away with feelings of accomplishment.

The series of 8 classes explores the following topics:

  1. The purpose of life
  2. Honoring the Lord’s presence
  3. Seeking the Lord’s guidance
  4. Living and growing spiritually
  5. Welcoming all into spiritual community
  6. Serving others
  7. Emanuel Swedenborg’s contributions
  8. The church organization and membership

Reading Group
This doctrinal class, which works like a "book club", is currently studying and discussing the book Heaven and Hell by Emanuel Swedenborg. Classes are held at individual's homes on Thursdays from 10:30 - 12 noon throughout the school year. They read assigned paragraphs and come prepared to discuss them. If you are interested in attending the classes, call or email the Pastor.

Mid-Winter Banquet
Once a year, on the last Saturday of January, a special guest speaker is invited to present an hour long topic of interest.  The presentation is preceded by a full, sit-down catered meal.  Previous topics have covered art history, science, philosophy, and spiritual growth.
